When the COVID 19 Pandemic hit the United States, construction and remodeling businesses were designated as “essential”-- especially for our clients we had under construction. The advisory list identifies workers who conduct a range of operations and services that are typically essential to continued critical infrastructure viability, including staffing operations centers, maintaining and repairing critical infrastructure, operating call centers, working construction. Workers such as plumbers, electricians, exterminators, builders, contractors, HVAC Technicians, landscapers, and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences, businesses and buildings are essential.
Establishments that remain open are strongly encouraged to modify their operations to conduct as much business as possible remotely, and to limit interactions where practicable. Creative Spaces Remodeling (CSR) Company is respecting and strictly adhering to all guidelines set forth by both federal and state government agencies regarding social-distancing and environmental cleaning and disinfection. CSR employees are doing the following while onsite in our clients’ homes:
Wear masks
Wear gloves unless actual touching is required. Then wash hands as required often and/or using hand sanitizers; all surfaces are wiped down after work is completed along with doorknobs, railings, etc.
Request homeowners to vacate the area while work is going on.
Keep six feet of distance from others
Keeping track of tradesmen and typically keeping 5 or less people and/or 1 trade at a time.
CSR Employees minimize client contacts and rely more on technology by communicating with both clients and tradesmen using FaceTime, email and phones.
CSR is dedicated to reducing the threat to human health caused by the transmission of
the novel coronavirus and to protect and save lives using safe practices.
Creative Spaces Remodeling is doing everything possible to complete all projects that were under construction so that our clients can have functioning kitchens, laundry rooms and other critical spaces for quality of life living during this very difficult time. CSR is also using technology to the fullest with our virtual design meetings for both our clients currently in production and new clients who have just begun the design phase. During our design meetings our architects and designers can share their screens in order for everyone to view, collaborate and modify architectural drawings "live" just as if we were sitting in our office at our conference table. Our Project Managers are also using FaceTime to communicate with both the CSR staff, our clients, and trade partners on a daily basis.
Creative Spaces Remodeling is currently able to start any project now, especially those that are either a detached structure like a custom home, garage, guest home, pool house or outdoor living area. CSR can also start a full remodel like an addition or 2nd level using all of the state and federal guidelines for safe and healthy social distancing and sanitizing. Depending on the actual situation, we have been able to go inside the client's homes with the safety measures provided by the federal and state governments. The County Building Permit offices are accepting new permit applications online and have a drop box outside of the building for items that must be delivered in person. Certain county inspections are still being done depending on the project.
Creative Spaces Remodeling is concerned about the future. We see a tsunami wave of projects people will want to do in 2020 and 2021 all coming together at the same time once this crisis is over. Unfortunately, everyone is stressed and understandably impatient and will want "their" project to begin immediately. The only way we can see to handle this log jam of work is to begin working on a first-come-first-serve basis and to start the design phase and permitting processes now. Some other concerns we see in the near future when the flood gates open up are major backlogs at the permit office, and material/labor shortages. Everyone will want everything done right away, causing confusion and chaos which will turn into additional unnecessary stress for all.
So, if you have been thinking about getting started later once the crisis is over, please consider starting now. You can avoid the anxiety and stress by allowing us to help you with the design and the permitting process now in a controlled and very relaxing manner. That way your project will be planned out carefully with all elements covered and ready to begin. Some of the benefits of this decision are:
Scheduling design meetings are so easy now with everyone at home and most are not able to work.
Virtual meetings are as if we are all together... it's amazing! We use the most current technology and applications, such as Zoom, FaceTime and more.
Due to the virtual meetings, you do not need to travel to our office, and allows you to dress however comfortable you want.
Product selections can be mostly done on-line and with our consultants right there with you.
Designing a project is both very therapeutic and a great way to overcome boredom.
